Monday Money Saving Tips

Okay, so every Monday I will be posting ways to curb impulse buys that will save you money so that you allow yourself time to save for something REALLY WORTH IT. 60% of purchases are impulse buys!!!

1. PINPOINT WHAT TRIGGERS YOU TO BUY: figure out which stores you visit in which you purchase at least one item every single time, even it is a tiny purchase and limit your exposure to that store.

2. MAP OUT YOUR SHOPPING DAY: Make a list of what it is that you are going to be purchasing before you go out. ONLY visit the areas in which the item you want will be. Because let's face it, if you wander around browsing, you will purchase.

3. DISTINGUISH BETWEEN WANT AND NEED: "For luxuries, adopt a rule of three: you can save toward three 'wants' at any given time, and if you find yourself jonesing for another luxury item, strike one of the originals. Saving for something specific will help you limit your impulse spending."
