Grammys 2012 Best Dressed

This year, I was not at all inspired by the looks that appeared on the runway. However, a few pieces slipped in that were at least noteworthy. Here they are :)

Nicole Miller, Fall '12 RTW

Once again I was drawn to another label I usually do not pay mind to. However, Nicole Miller send bohemian pieces down the runway this season, which I thought was brave considering most other labes were sticking to somber colors and androgynous pieces...again. So bravo, and may summer stretch a little longer with this line.

Helmut Lang, Fall '12 RTW

This season at the Helmut Lang runway, I saw a lot of designs that were made for the busy woman at work. These pieces can easily be worn to the office, then out for cocktails with the girls afterwards. My kind of design.

Doo.Ri Fall '12 RTW

I was quite surprised to find that  Doo.Ri, a label I never really give much attention to, has been my favorite show so far for the Fall 2012 ready to wear shows in NY. The label gives off a sort of neo-romanticism feel with this collection that I find very reassuring....I am getting a little tired of the androgyny of fashion.

Fashion FORWARD

There are a lot of start up online services, websites, etc. that are taking online consumerism to a next level. Here I will list out for you some amazing new advancements in how retailers and companies engage their audience and consumers. We are getting closer and closer to not needing brick and mortar stores.

OpenSky is sort of like an Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tumblr account all rolled into one. The difference? The site is set to your specifications regarding your interests. There are 80 curators that hold sales reflecting your interests. Interests on this site range from food, style, health, and design. To help spark interest for this site, they offer rewards if your recommended friends make a purchase. I've already signed up :)

AHAlife is also another online retailer in which you are offered a curated selection of items, with a new item coming for you every 24 hours. What is unique about this site is that is allows you to also make product suggestions; if that doesn't engage your customer, I don't know what will! Another great benefit of this site is that every time you make a purchase in which part of the proceeds goes to a good cause, you also earn AHAkarma points for yourself as well. SHOP on!

We all know that most men do not enjoy shopping....at least not as much as women do. That's why Trunk Club, a menswear personalized clothing service is brilliant. Every month, new items are shipped to your door, shopped with your specifications and preferences in mind. Customers are only charged for items they do not send back. Talk about easy shopping.
